Investment Glossary
Ticker Symbol -
A system of letter symbols used to identify a stock or mutual fund on an
exchange. Typically, a companies Ticker Symbol is an abbreviation of their
corporate name. For example, Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited uses RCL as their
symbol. However, a few companies dare to be different and select a symbol that
reflects their corporations goals, such as Southwest Airlines, LUV symbol.
